New Delhi: For the first time auction house Osian's is exhibiting its collection of Hollywood memorabilia in India.
Showcasing vintage film posters, lobby cards, paintings, photographs, costumes and handbills spanning world cinematic history from the late 1920s to the present day, the one-of-its-kind exhibition by Osian's Chairperson, Neville Tuli, will remain open till June 28.
On display are collectibles portraying film genres such as animated films, blockbusters, the French New Wave, comedies, Westerns, adventure films, thrillers and historic epics.
Be it the innocent humour of Arsenic and Old Lace, the crazy hey days of Abott and Costello or master Hitchcock leaving you Spellbound.
And if loving film posters is a Psycho's job, wait till you are hit by BenHur or transmitted to Arabia by Lawrence.
That's auction house Osian's Cinema Memorabilia from across the globe that Ran from Akira Kurosawa to Salvador Dali's Un Chien Andalou and settled with Brigette Bardot's Le Mepris.
However, Tuli said, India sure is a lover of cinema but needs to look at the art process with more respect. "The country has disrespected most of the publicity material and has also disrespected everything that goes along with cinema. Also, the museum archival system is not developed in India,” he said.
