KOCHI: The NSS College of Engineering, Palakkad has won the first prize in the Kerala chapter-level competition of the National paper presentation competition-2011 conducted by the Indian Institution of Industrial Engineering - Kerala chapter.The SCMS School of Engineering and Technology at Karukutty bagged the second prize in the competition which was conducted at the Productivity House, Kalamassery, recently. The topic of the competition was “Cutting Edge Technologies in Manufacturing - A Paradigm Shift”. Ten teams from various engineering colleges and management institutions in Ernakulam, Kottayam, Thrissur and Palakkad districts participated in the competition.The trophies, cash prizes and certificates were distributed to the winning teams by V-Guard Industries joint managing director George Sleeba. The winning teams have qualified for participating in the national-level competition to be held in Mumbai on September 24, according to IIIE-Kerala Chapter vice-chairman K S Pratheep.
