HYDERABAD: To control the stray dog menace in the Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) of the state, the government has constituted a committee to implement the guidelines on stray dog management.The Commissioner and Director of Municipal Administration will be the ex-officio chairperson of the committee. The director of Animal Husbandry Department, director of Medical & Health, director of Institute of Preventive Medicine, chief veterinary officer, GHMC, two representative veterinarians from Non Governmental Organisations recognised by Animal Welfare Board of India, Member SPCA of a District and Joint Director (SWM), CDMA will be the members.The function of the committee would be to hold bi-monthly meetings as and when called by the CDMA to review and issue instructions on the following: Capturing, Sterilization, Immunisation and Release as per the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Animal Welfare Board of India Rules.
