The second phase of the road safety programme featuring Pappu the zebra will be launched on Friday.
Books on road safety will be distributed to school students as part of ‘Pappu Zebra - Road Sense Programme’ at Karthika Thirunal Government Vocational Higher Secondary School, Manacaud, at 9.30 am.
The books are to be distributed in schools with the assistance of Nippon Toyota. V Sivankutty MLA, Mayor K Chandrika and Deputy Police Commissioner Putta Vimaladitya will attend the function.
The road sense books, prepared by artist Nandan Pillai, Orgpeople chairman and creator of Pappu, are being distributed free of cost. The Traffic Police had launched Pappu as its mascot in June 2009. The mascot had become a big hit, especially with school children.
