It was their mistake,” said Parameshwar. He added that the Congress is contemplating to take action against its legislators for this indiscipline. “We are discussing it within the party forum and suitable action will be taken after they return,” he said refusing to clarify if he will serve them a show cause notice for violating the party directions. Recently, the Congress, BJP and JD (S) legislators went on a study tour to South America despite widespread criticism. Earlier in the day, Parameshwar released a booklet on the BJP government’s misrule in the state. Senior vice chairman of Kisan-Khet Mazdoor Congress Anand Kumar wrote the book. It highlights the state government’s alleged anti-farmer policies and difficulties faced by farmers. “The Congress will hold a farmers convention next month in north Karnataka and it will be attended by AICC president Sonia Gandhi,” KPCC chief said. S M K r i s h n a t o Retain Office Parameshwar rubbished the rumours of External Affairs Minister S M Krishna giving up his portfolio to lead the party in the state ahead of elections. “Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh have given him (Krishna) an important task of getting permanent membership for India in the United Nations Security Council. He is focusing on it. He will always guide us,” he saidfirst published:September 03, 2012, 11:28 ISTlast updated:September 03, 2012, 11:28 IST
