Patna: Bihar police has withdrawn the case of dacoity against a 3-month-old child after the story was aired on CNN-IBN. Earlier this month, an FIR was filed against a three-months old infant Praveen in Patna by some people who had a long-standing land dispute with the child’s’ family.
Bihar police has now withdrawn the case and departmental action has also been initiated against the concerned police officers. The incident happened in Muzaffarpur district of Bihar.
The child, Praveen Kumar of Nehalpur village, had been named one of the accused in a bus loot case registered at the Meenapur police station in Muzzafarpur district earlier this month.
Finding itself on the wrong foot, Police had to get into the damage control mode.
"There will be an inquiry and action will be taken against the person who has lodged this FIR," IG, Muzaffarpur Sunit Kumar had said after the FIR was launched against the child.
