Patrol police nab chain snatcher

BANGALORE: A chain snatcher was caught red handed by Hoysala patrolling police when he was trying to run away after committing crime in Banashankari police station limits on Tuesday.The accused has been identified as Harish (37), a native of Hassan and a welder by profession. He tried to flee after snatching a gold chain worth Rs. 1 lakh from Vani, a resident of Padmanabhanagar when she was returning home on Tuesday night.She raised alarm as soon as the accused snatched the chain from her and the Hoysala police who were in the vicinity chased and arrested him. He has been remanded to judicial custody and Banashankari police are further investigating the case in this regard.
