Plea to file case against actors rejected

BANGALORE: Advocate general BV Acharya has rejected the application filed by a city-based advocate A V Amarnathan seeking his consent to file criminal contempt of court case in the High Court against Sandalwood actors Ambareesh, Jaggesh, Vijay and movie producer Rockline Venkatesh.He had filed the application alleging the four persons of forcing Vijayalakshmi, Darshan’s wife, to withdraw her statement. “This amounts to inference with the judicial process, which amounts to contempt of court,” the advocate had said in his application.He moved the application on the ground that after the FIR is registered the magistrate court gets the jurisdiction and thereafter, the IO has to submit his entire investigation report. “Till then any person interfering with the investigation is committing contempt of court,” he said.
