A plea seeking removal of Karnataka Pra­desh Congress Committee (KPCC) president G Para­meshwar and replacing him with a leader of Veerashaiva community was reportedly turned down by All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Sonia Gandhi.

As many as 40 party leaders of the Veerashaiva community had gone to Delhi and stayed there for three days to meet Gandhi and other Central leaders, sources said.
