PMK calls for shock treatment to Lankan government for arresting 43 Tamil fishermen
"Sri Lanka refuses to release Indian boats and fishermen, but the PM Modi wishes Rajapaksa for electoral victory," said the PMK founder.

Chennai: Despite strong protests from India, the Sri Lankan Navy continues to arrest Tamil fishermen from India who stray into international waters or Sri Lankan waters. In yet another incident, 43 fishermen from Tamil Nadu and Karaikal in Pondicherry were arrested by the Sri Lankan navy on Tuesday.

The ruling BJP led NDA ally and the PMK founder Dr P Ramadoss has called for tough action.

He said, "Time for shock treatment to Sri Lanka as given by Indira Gandhi and MGR in the past. The Centre arranges for temple honours to Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa despite opposition from Tamil Nadu. Sri Lanka refuses to release Indian boats and fishermen, but the PM Modi wishes Rajapaksa for electoral victory."
