New Delhi: On a cold winter afternoon in the Capital, the cast and crew of the upcoming film 'Crazy Cukkad Family' sat in a companionable silence, which is usually seen in real families.
With 'Gangaajal' director Prakash Jha donning the producer's hat for debutant director Ritesh Menon's film, the cast was at ease with each other, fooling around and cracking jokes at each other's expense.
Shilpa Shukla, best known for her intense roles in films like 'Khamosh Pani' and 'Chak De! India', will now be seen in the family-oriented comedy 'Crazy Cukkad Family', which the actress says was a good change for her.
"There is always an effort to do something different. I would say that in this case, it is more to do with the timing. It was nice as there wasn't any intense training. Preparing and doing the film has been a very different kind of process. It was so much fun on sets," Shukla told PTI.
Jha on the other hand, was all praise for Shukla. "She is great in the film. What Shilpa has done in 'Crazy Cukkad Family', Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif couldn't have done. It is serious comedy," he said, laughing.
'Crazy Cukkad Family' revolves around four estranged children, who come together for their ailing father in hope that he dies soon so his wealth will be theirs.
