Prayanothsava: Loyalty is their latest feature
We talk to a few travellers to find out more about the Prayanothsava scheme introduced by KSRTC..

BANGALORE: Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) is wooing passengers online and has got into e-commerce by offering loyalty coupons and discounts. Under the Prayanothsava scheme, customers who buy bus tickets through e-booking or m-booking before May 31 get a thirty per cent discount on their fourth ticket. Started almost three months ago, this mega-discount scheme has been gaining rapid popularity all over the country.City Express talks to a few regular travellers to find out more about the scheme.Valid on all services including premium, luxury, deluxe and express, this offer can be availed on all KSRTC routes with destinations in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu. A discount of thirty percent will be given at the time of booking the fourth ticket, provided tickets booked earlier are not cancelled. If any of the tickets are cancelled (on or before the scheduled day of travel) after booking the fourth one, then the user is no longer eligible for discount. “I think this is a good scheme. I booked several tickets for my family recently. And I managed to avail the ‘loyalty discount’ offered on the fourth ticket. All tickets were booked using the same e-ticket user id,” said Adhith M, a city-based entepreneur. However, this particular discount is available only for a single seat booked through the fourth ticket before May 31. Unaware of the exact rules, another passenger Samarth, said that he did not avail any such offer. “I had booked several tickets in bulk last month. This offer is available only on a single seat booked the fourth time. Also, you have to choose the loyalty discount feature while booking the ticket. I wish I had known about this earlier,” he said. After introducing the Prayanothsava scheme, KSRTC has registered a whopping 1.2 lakh new passengers. According to Channa Basappa, chief manager (marketing and commuter relations) at KSRTC, 5,400 users have availed this offer so far and the numbers are steadily increasing. “The response has been phenomenal. Today, KSRTC books almost 10,000 seats per day online (30,000 including franchise bookings). The loyalty discount feature has proved to be a big success. However, some passengers forgot to choose the loyalty discount feature. So, they were unable to avail this offer. In such cases, the users will be eligible for discount on the next ticket booked. I believe that Prayanothsava has been beneficial to several passengers since its introduction almost three months ago. Based on the overall response, the decision to extend the service will be made soon,” he added. For further details, visit www.krstc.in.
