Present-day screenplays inferior, says Adoor

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Present-day screenplays are inferior in quality, said film-maker Adoor Goplakrishnan while inaugurating a one-day short story workshop at Vyloppilli Samskrithi Bhavan here the other day.Screenplays belong to film-makers and those which are not written for the purpose of film-making cannot be described by that name, he  added. Chandramathy, D Vinayachandran, Vilakkudy Rajendran and M Chandraprakash participated in the inaugural session. Noted writers G R Indugopan, Vinu Abraham, Saritha Varma and C Rahim shared their views on short stories in the discussion that followed.
