Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Monday directed the power department to take steps for preventing power theft and increase revenue of the department.
During a review meeting, Yadav directed power officials to ensure 100 per cent verification of consumers to avoid power theft.
"A work plan should be prepared for 100 per cent verification of power consumers in Meerut, Ghaziabad, Lucknow, Varanasi and Sonebhadra for ensuring realisation of revenue," Yadav said.
He also directed power officials to ensure electricity supply to rural areas.
