Coimbatore: The main accused Sunil Kumar and his accomplice in the recent abduction and alleged molestation case of a Kerala actress were brought to Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu to collect evidence after remaining in police custody for 9 days.
The actress had identified 4 of the accused at a test identification parade on Saturday. Identification parade of the accused is expected to take place on Sunday. Police had demanded that they needed the custody of accused to question him.
However, the mobile phone, which the accused allegedly used to capture the visuals of the actress, is yet to be recovered.
Though sources in the police said that the accused Sunil might have hidden the phone somewhere fearing an arrest, he told the police that he had thrown the phone in a drainage. Police have ramped up the efforts to recover the phone.
The team of police personnel from Aluva and Ernakulam in Kerala also inquired with a person, whose two-wheeler was used by the accused. However, the owner reportedly said he has lodged a complaint that his bike was stolen, they said.
They also inquired with a youth, with whom Vigesh shared a room, police said
After the inquiry, the team returned to Kerala, police said.
The actress was abducted and allegedly molested inside her car by the accused, who had forced their way into the vehicle on the night of February 17 near Kochi.
