The state government has ordered a probe regarding the construction of a school on a graveyard land in the city.
The primary school building was constructed on a graveyard land in Gher Hussain Khan area of the city during BSP regime at a cost of over Rs 3 Lakhs, city education officer Jamil Ahamad said on Tuesday. However the school never became functional. Recently the state's Urban Development minister Mohd Azam Khan has visited the city and ordered a through probe into the matter. Rampur Municipal Board had issued the no objection certificate in this regard, the official said.
Meanwhile, the executive officer of the Municipal Board Shansha Wali Khan said that a through probe will be initiated to find out that how the NOC was issued and higher officers will be requested to recover the cost of construction from the erring officials.
