Pumping up the vibe with music

BANGALORE: Hard Rock Cafe hosted Four Strokes. the band which was formed in 2006  who performed for the ever enthusiastic audience of Bangalore recently. Joe Louis was the vocalist and guitarist, and Charles Reigo played the bass and provided back-up vocals. While Mark Besterwitch played drums, Gerard Besterwitch played the lead. Four Strokes’ music is their own version of rock n’ Roll, blues, country, rock and jazz. The band members are influenced by a large variety of music styles and bands. The band set the mood by playing some of their own compositions. The music graduated from blues, country to rock and roll. They covered songs of renowned bands like The Doors, Dire Strait and Sultans of Swing. Four Strokes seemed open to all kinds of music and allow their experiences in different genres to influence their performance. The music they played was fun and the performance energetic. The listeners never had a dull moment. Sameeksha, one of the music enthusiasts and an amateur singer herself said, “The band was pretty decent. They had a good mix of country rhythm with alternate rock guitaring patterns. They were technical but melodic at the same time. It was quite a delight listening to them.” The mix of various styles created a positive vibe in the band. Although its not possible to define the music that they play, their objective is to play music from the heart. “This was our first performance in Hard Rock Cafe, Bangalore. We all are absolutely thrilled after going live in front of such a great audience. In this place there is no scope of any compromise, no scope for any mistake, the performance had to be uptight and just perfect. The audience is very well aware of their music and know what they want. Its always a challenge to play music infront of people with good taste and awareness. It was fun,” said Gerard Besterwitch, the lead guitarist. The music kept the whole ambiance brimming with energy. The audience sang to the tunes of famous numbers performed by the band. Four Strokes knew exactly what  needed to be done to make the evening fun for their fans present there. Starting slow and moving on to rock kept the listeners on their toes who demanded for more when the evening came to an end. William from UK said, “I have been here since the band went up on stage and I did not have a single dull moment. I am a fan of blues, jazz and country music so listening to it live has always been a welcoming experience. The band was cool, they knew their music. I personally had a good time.”
