Raghurama moves HC against look-out notice

K Raghurama Krishna Raju, an industrialist and relative of Rajya Sabha member KVP Ramachandra Rao, moved the High Court on Thursday challenging the action of the CID authorities in not withdrawing the ‘look-out notice’ issued against him in connection with the CBI joint director’s phone call data case.

Raju was accused in a case registered by the CID on a complaint lodged by CBI joint director VV Lakshiminarayana and was booked under various sections of the IPC and Information Technology Act.

He submitted to the High Court on August 18 that the trial court had granted him anticipatory bail.

The petitioner further submitted that he was ignorant of under what grounds the ‘look-out notice’ had been issued nor he was aware of the exact purport of the notice.

He submitted that he had come to know the issuance of notice through media reports which were not denied by the CID authorities.

He contended that the action of the CID in keeping the ‘lookout notice’ in force even after he had sought its recall in view of the anticipatory bail granted by the lower court was illegal.

He requested the High Court to suspend operation of the ‘look-out notice’ issued by the CID to immigration authorities across the nation.
