New Delhi: A fast-track court is expected on Thursday to deliver judgment in the case involving the alleged rape of a Japanese woman at a Pushkar hotel in April.
After hearing arguments for both sides in the case over the past two-and-a-half months, Judge Mahaveer Prasad Sharma fixed the date for the final verdict as July 27, prosecution counsel Ashok Tejwani said.
He said recording of the statements of the witnesses in the case was completed in the fast-track court last Friday.
The court had recorded statements of 22 witnesses from the prosecution side and eight for the defence, he said.
The Japanese tourist had in a fax sent from Agra on April 18 alleged that she was raped and robbed of Rs 54,000 after being drugged at a hotel in Pushkar by the hotel owner's son Bablu on April 2.
Police charge sheeted the main accused Bablu, his mother Roshni, his brothers Sanjay and Raju and one Raju Sahi on May 10.
The case was transferred to the fast-track court on May 12, Tejwani said.
