Rakhi Sawant, who was in the capital for the launch of her brother Rakesh Sawant's new album on 16th December rape incident spoke on the issue of women safety in the country.
Remembering the gruesome rape case in 2012, the 36-year-old actress said that she can't express in words how sordid and shameful the incident was. "I am really sad to say that the accused are still alive. Why ain't they punished? Despite having all the proofs they are still in jail relishing Biryani. I would request the Modi government to prosecute the perpetrators and if they can't do it, they should lend the criminals in our hands so that we can teach them a lesson in our own way".
Speaking further on the issue, she said "I couldn't expect anything from Congress but I do hope that BJP would certainly make some laws for the girls in the country. Our PM is right now on a cleanliness drive , but he should also think about women's safety. I know he will do something for the Indian girls. I wish I could tell Modi ji to give a permit to every Indian girl to carry a gun. This is what I think."
