BANGALORE: Former MLA and leader of the movement against the government's landgrabbing A T Ramaswamy on Monday regretted for wrongly accusing former Governor V S Ramadevi of acquiring four acres of government land near Jala hobli in Bangalore by producing false documents.
Stating that it was a case of mistaken identity, Ramaswamy told reporters that a woman by name Ramadevi had illegally acquired the government land at Jala hobli and he thought it was former Governor Ramadevi. "I regret my statement to the media which has caused damage to the reputation of the former Governor," he added. He also welcomed Ramadevi's decision to approach the media on the issue and requested others whose name is in the list of encroachers to follow the path.
