Union minister Jyotraditya Scindia on Thursday said that he was against the use of red beacon atop official vehicles as it widens the gap between people and their representatives.
"I do not use the red beacon light either in New Delhi or elsewhere," Scindia told reporters here. "The red beacon light widens the distance between the people and their representatives," Scindia said while replying to a poser.
"Though I consider it as a small thing, it is important," he said. He also suggested that if Congress came to power in Madhya Pradesh, where Assembly elections are to be held later this year, the party would try to ensure that nobody puts up red beacon on vehicles.
