BANGALORE: The JD(S) and Congress are attacking Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa only to keep their party legislators together, Excise Minister Renukacharya said.Addressing the press here on Friday, the minister, who once led a revolt of BJP legislators which brought the government to its knees in October last, criticised Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Siddaramaiah and H D Kumaraswamy for levelling baseless charges against Yeddyurappa.Pooh-poohing Siddaramaiah’s statement that if the Congress returns to power most ministers of the BJP government, including the chief minister, would be jailed for misuse of power, he averred: “He [Sidharamaiah] has the habit of making such statements against his political opponents. In fact, he had earlier vowed to put former chief minister S M Krishna and several other Congress leaders behind bars.”
