CHENNAI: A three-day Jewellery Industry Trade fair at Chennai Trade Centre, was inaugurated by K Rosaiah, Governor of Tamil Nadu, on Friday.Inaugurating the fair, Rosaiah commended the efforts taken by Tamil Nadu Jewellers Federation (TNJF) for advancing the growth and bettering the gold jewellery trade and for acting as a bridge between the consumer and the manufacturer in the gold trade in the State.“World Gold Council estimates reveal that TN, AP , Kerala and Karnataka account for a significant portion in the total gold market in India. This has led to a steep growth in employment and wealth generation and also forced jewel manufacturers to produce quality jewellery,” he said.M Balasubramanian, TMJF president, said it was the first edition of the Jewellery Industry Trade show of India 2011. The B2B show will open from Oct 14 to 16.
