BANGALORE: Notorious rowdy Bettangere Seena gave a slip to the Bangalore police when they raided his house at Nelamangala on Monday but arrested three accused who were supplying arms to him.The arrested persons have been identified as Shivkumar Tiwari (41) of Govindapur, New Delhi, Abdul Ameed Khan (36) of Gorakhpur and Bijendra Kumar Ray (32) of Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh.Police said that the accused supplied arms from UP and Seena was planning to use them against the police and rival gangs. The police, on a tip off, raided his house at Sondekoppa Road, near Ganesh Temple at Nelamangala. However, Seena managed to escape from the police force led by DCP (Crime) Krisnam Raju, his ACP, three police inspectors and five personnel.According to the police, they managed to arrest the three arms suppliers and recovered two pistols and 21 bullets (0.32), one DBBL (double barrel breech loading) gun and 12 cartridges of 12 bore and three mobile phones.In March, an inmate of the central jail, Mysore, had fired six bullets with a countrymade pistol at another prisoner and Bettangere Seena. He was hospitalised and treated and then returned to the jail. Sources said, when he was in Belgaum jail, he was attacked again.Meanwhile, City Police Commissioner Jyothi Prakash Mirji said that Seena was out on bail. He is procuring arms from Uttar Pradesh to make his team stronger, the police said.
