HYDERABAD: The state government would seek Rs 800 crore from the Centre for creating necessary infrastructure in the city after being chosen for hosting the 11th Conference of Parties to the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity in October. The conference will be attended by delegations and heads of states from 193 countries.
The government agreed to sanction Rs 200 crore from the state budget for the event. As part of the Greater Hyderabad Development Plan, the GHMC will take up development of roads in three phases. In the first phase, 170 km of main roads will be developed for which Rs 700 crore has been earmarked.
