BHUBANESWAR: The Cabinet on Thursday approved the Revenue Department proposal for amendment to the Orissa District Revenue Service (Method of Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Rules, 2011 for filling up of vacancies in the field staff. The Government proposed to amend the rules to allow candidates having degree qualification in subjects other than Bachelor in Arts, Commerce and Science for the posts of revenue inspector, Chief Secretary BK Patnaik said after the meeting. The minimum qualification for recruitment to assistant revenue inspector is Plus Two with knowledge in computer application being mandatory. The department is facing acute shortage of staff with a vacancy of 698 revenue inspector, 893 assistant revenue inspector and 725 amin posts, said Revenue Secretary RK Sharma.
