TIRUPATI: Demanding action against the ministers and people’s representatives who tendered their resignations for separate statehood for Telangana , Samaikyandhra Parirakshana Samithi (SAPS) has posted a letter to the chief justice of the Supreme Court.Speaking to the media here on Wednesday, SAPS secretary N Raja Reddy, advocate I Guruswamy and others said the smooth functioning of the government was hit due to the resignations of many ministers for a separate Telangana. Especially, the people’s representatives put in their papers without bothering its effect on the smooth functioning of government machinery. With this, the implementation of many welfare programmes and developmental schemes is either halted or going at a snail’s pace, they said. The people’s representatives flouted the spirit of the oath they had taken that development is prior than any regional sentiment, they said.In the letter to the Chief Justice of India, the Smaikyandhra leaders urged that the Apex Court take action against all the Telangana ministers who put in their papers, neglecting people’s welfare.Finding fault with the recent statement of TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao that taking poison was the only option if Telangana state was not achieved, SAPS demanded the state government take action against Rao for his provocative speech, which is leading youths to resort suicides.
