New Delhi: The much-awaited Samsung Galaxy S5 is coming to India on March 27, said a company official. The company has started sending out media invites for its event on March 27.
The smartphone, which made its first appearance last month at the Samsung Unpacked event, is likely to be available from Thursday, however, there is no confirmation on the same. Neither any information on its pricing has been shared by the official.
It is still unknown whether the new wearable devices from Samsung including the Gear Fit and Gear 2, would also be announced for the Indian market on the same day.
The Galaxy S5 has a 5.1-inch FHD Super AMOLED (1920 x 1080) display. Powered by a 2.5GHz quad-core application processor and Android 4.4.2 KitKat, it will come packed with a 2800mAh battery. It has 2GB of RAM.
The Galaxy S5 is dust and water resistant. It also offers a Finger Scanner, providing a secure, biometric screen locking feature.
Its Ultra Power Saving Mode turns the display to black and white, and shuts down all unnecessary features to minimise the battery consumption.
The Galaxy S5 features a 16 megapixel rear camera. It is claimed to offer the world's fastest autofocus speed - up to 0.3 seconds. Its new Selective Focus feature allows users to focus on a specific area of an object while simultaneously blurring out the background. It has a 2.1 megapixel front camera.
