Mumbai: Star power hit the trail for Congress candidate Priya Dutt with the much-awaited appearance of her brother, Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt.
A red-eyed and weary Sanjay Dutt managed to pull in the crowds from North-West Mumbai, her sister?s bypoll constituency.
The fanfare was no damp squib despite threats from BJP and Shiv Sena to protest his campaigning for his alleged role in 1993 Mumbai blasts.
Dutt was joined by Congress MP from Mumbai South Milind Deora and Local Congress MLA Baba Siddique.
But Priya Dutt was nowhere to be seen. ?I've told her to sit at home and do some baby-sitting,? said Sanjay.
But with gangster Abu Salem's capture, another drama is unfolding.
There is speculation that Sanjay may be called in for interrogation about an arms cache that Salem allegedly supplied to him.
?The matter is sub-judice and so I cannot comment on it. Let the law prevail,? said Sanjay.
It's been a non-stop schedule for Sanjay Dutt? and all through his campaigning he's had only one demand - that the people give back to the Dutt family, what his father Sunil Dutt gave to them.
The Mumbai north-west Lok Sabha constituency is going to bypoll on November 19, after sitting MP and Union minister Sunil Dutt passed away in May this year.
Now, whether star power can draw in votes or not is debatable, but it certainly pulled in the crowds.
