Mumbai: With superstar Amitabh Bachchan indisposed for at least a month, his most popular TV game show Kaun Banega Crorepati has been rescheduled.
Kaun Banega Crorepati or KBC-2, the Amitabh-anchored show which is aired thrice a week now, has been rescheduled to two days a week, so that the pre-recorded episodes of the show last till Amitabh recovers.
"If the tri-weekly schedule was to continue, then the pre-recorded episodes of KBC-2 will last till December 23, but with the rescheduled programme, the show will continue till January 7," Star India Chief Operating Officer, Sameer Nair said.
Star hopes that Amitabh recovers by then, but Nair said that their foremost concern was his health, and the channel would not like to discuss business matters at this stage.
The KBC-2 will now be aired on Friday and Saturday, while the Sunday slot will feature a serial on Sai Baba.
Besides the KBC-2, the megastar is also associated with six Hindi films that are currently underway, on which an estimated Rs 100 crore have been invested. These films are: S Ramanath's Zamanat, Karan Johar's Kabhie Alwida Na Kehna, Bunty Walia's Ek Ajnabee, Raj Kumar Santoshi's Family, Ravi Chopra's Babul and Ram Gopal Verma's Darna Jaroori Hai.
Of the six unreleased films, Zamanat, Ek Ajnabee and Family are complete and waiting for post-production jobs, while Babul, Kabhie Alwida Na Kehna are on the floor, S Kumar Mohan, editor of Complete Cinema magazine said.
"There are at least Rs 100 crore at stake on Amitabh's films and the producers will have to wait till the star get backs to work," Komal Nahata, editor of Film Information magazine said.
Amitabh Bachchan has also signed up for product endorsement worth Rs 20 crore, films for which are yet to be shot.
