Chennai: With Christmas just a couple of days away, we have a Santa Express spreading the cheer this season in Chennai.

Not one or two but about 50 Santas chugging along in the Santa Express, sing to the tunes of Christmas. An initiative of cultural organisation, Tamil Maiyam and the St. John's International Residential School, the Santa Express is off to spread their message of joy to a neighbouring village called Palanjur.

"Santa should be a source of communication for caring and sharing among kids, for distributing gifts and spreading the message of joy and love to the entire city of Chennai," says Chiranjit.

Santas met with friends wherever they went and the kids from the village crowded around for the goodies.

"When they see one Santa Claus with Jingle bells music, they get excited. However, seeing hundreds of Santas in cars and buses, they get all the more excited. That's the spirit these Santas bring to our campus,” says Dr Kishore Kumar, Senior Principal, St John's International Residential School.
