Santhosh appears before CB

KOCHI: The self-styled Godman Santhosh Madhavan appeared before the Crime Branch Economic Offences Wing (EOW) on Wednesday in response to a summons issued by the department. There were two cases registered against him  since 2008, of which one was regarding misappropriation of funds and illegal land transactions made under Santhitheeram Trust. The second case was for cheating non-resident Keralite Sarafin Edwin of 4 lakh Dirhams.“Santhosh was called to the office as part of the investigation. He was charged of criminal breached of trust in the first case for handling the funds that came to the Santhitheeram Trust from other countries” an official said.He had allegedly transferred four lakh Dirhams from Ediwn’s bank account for starting a hotel in Dubai. The case was registered on the basis of an e-mail from the complainant. But later, Edwin produced documents showing bank transactions made from her personal account in Dubai.
