Panaji: In a major relief to Tarun Tejpal in the sexual assault case against him, the Goa sessions court has extended interim protection to him till Saturday morning. The Tehelka editor has been provided relief till Saturday 10 am and the police cannot arrest him till them although the Goa DGP said police can question him.
Tarun Tejpal, his family members and lawyers were taken out of the plane and airport under police protection as soon as the plane landed at Goa's Dabolim airport.
The hearing of Tejpal bail plea hearing is being heard by a sessions court in Goa.
The court hearing saw high drama as Tejpal's lawyer was forced to apologise for naming the woman journalist who has accused Tejpal of sexually assaulting her. Tejpal's lawyer, while appealing to hear his client's version to the case, had said: "If there is any CCTV footage I will be exonerated. Let us all view the whole CCTV footage. The fest went on for 7,8,9, 10 and 11 and the incident happened on the 7th and the 8th for a few seconds. I want to ask is the lady normal and her conduct normal. We can't treat whatever she is saying as gospel. Take my version and also her version."
