New Delhi: Vidya Balan, Tusshar Kapoor, Emran Hashmi and Naseeruddin Shah starrer The Dirty Picture has got into a legal mess. The film is based on Southern actress Silk Smitha's life. Media reports claim, her brother V Naga Vara Prasad has sent a legal notice to producer Ekta Kapoor and director Milan Luthria for not taking her family's consent for the movie.
Silk Smitha's brother has termed The Dirty Picture as an obscene film. He claims that no one from the films' team tried to contact the family before making a film on Silk Smitha. Apparently Ekta Kapoor and team have based their film on the inputs provided by Silk Smitha's alleged boyfriend in Chennai.
Prasad who got to know about the film through television stays in Kovvali village of Andhra Pradesh. He is an agriculturist. Silk Smitha's brother is not aiming at any monetary gains by filing a court case. He is concerned about the content of the film and doesn't want his family and relatives to be hurt.
Sources claim that Silk Smitha committed suicide because of financial crisis. In an interviews lately, her brother hinted that this may not be the truth.
The Dirty Picture team has not replied to Prasad's legal notice yet. He plans to send another notice in a few days.
Release date of The Dirty Picture is 2 December, 2011.
