The Revenue Department is taking steps to find ways to settle all the complaints registered till 2011 for which a meeting will be called at the village officers-level which will commence in Thrissur on Monday, said Revenue Minister Adoor Prakash. Steps are being taken to have smart village offices. He was speaking after inaugurating the renovated village office at Paravoor on Sunday.

The village office should render better services as it is a place where the common man flocks to with complaints and their needs should be addressed. The office staff should overcome the shortcoming and win the trust of the people.

For effective functioning of village offices steps will be taken to turn 14 of them in each district into smart village offices and the respective district collectors have submitted reports. The government’s aim is to turn all the village offices into model offices. Lauding the functioning of the Paravoor village office he said steps would be taken to give it the smart tag.

Among the new village offices announced four are in Ernakulam district. For speedy redressal of grievances measures will be taken to improve the basic facilities of all the 1634 village offices in the state. Attempts are being made to incorporate the details required in UID cards so as to make accelerate the issuance of various certificates. V D Satheesan MLA presided over the function. K P Dhanapal MP was the chief guest. District Collector Sheik Pareeth welcomed the gathering.
