BANGALORE: The state government officially owns a mobile unit of GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) Off Air Interception System, which could be used to tap telephone calls.
This system was introduced in India in 2008 and one such instrument was imported by the state government officially, which is under the custody of state intelligence. Five states, including Karnataka, Maharashtra and Delhi, are officially owning the instrument, sources in the intelligence department told Express.
