CHENNAI:  As a part of its rehabilitative programme, Rasa, an organisation working for the welfare of special children, is conducting a cultural event by 200 special children. An annual event, the programme will witness students from Rasa special school as well as those from five other special schools participate in and present the Total Dance Theatre.Rasa focuses on the holistic development of each individual through the inclusive experiences of music, dance, drama, storytelling and other aspects of theatre. This structured methodology is called Theatre for Holistic Development (THD) and was developed by Rasa's Founder-Director Dr  Ambika Kameshwar.In this year’s production of Dance Theatre, titled Avan Arulale, the special children are to take the audience throughout India, from Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Varanasi and Orissa  to make them experience India through the stories of different Saints as told by Sri Bhagavan MaharishiThe Production has been conceptualised, scripted and Directed by Dr Ambika Kameshwar. The special artistes will perform to recorded music and dialogues which requires a perfect sense of timing. The programme for this academic year is scheduled to happen today at Narada Gana Sabha, TTK Road, Alwarpet.According to a release, the event  will go a long way in spreading an awareness among the general public, about the creative talents of people with disabilities and give them the recognition they deserve.This is the sixth annual festival of Rasa after Vande Mataram, Nava Vidha Bhakthi, Arulin Aatral, Avane Vandaan and Anbu all winning both critical and popular acclaim from the Chennai audienceDr Ambika Kameshwar, the Director of the Production, is a well-known artiste in the field of dance and music. She has completed three decades of work in this field and has successfully produced and directed several productions of dance theatre, all of which speak of expertise in holding the audience attention and taking them to a higher level of  cultural and spiritual understandingThe show is a one time presentation of this magnitude.
