BANGALORE: SpiceJet flight 1144 from Bangalore to Visakhapatnam was delayed on Saturday morning and then finally took off more than two hours after the scheduled departure. All the 76 passengers who were stranded at the Bangalore International Airport claimed that they were not informed about this delay. However, a press release from the airline said, “There was a technical problem in both the engines of the flight because of propeller torque and the captain reported it as soon as the flight landed at the airport. We had informed the passengers.”The passengers complained that they were left in the lurch for over two hours and there was no response from the help desk. “The flight was supposed to take off at 8.30 am and I had an important meeting at 11 am. I kept asking the customer care, but got no response so I couldn’t even reschedule the meeting,” said Nagaraj, a passenger. Other passengers, too, voiced the same feelings.
