THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala Sports Council Swimming Pool, Nanniyode, will host the 28th sub-junior and 38th junior Kerala State Aquatic Championships from Friday to Sunday. Around 400 athletes from all 14 districts will be participating in the swimming and water polo events. Swimming events will commence at 8 am on all days, followed by the water polo matches. In the sub-junior division, there are three groups - eight years; nine and ten years; and 11 and 12 years. In the junior division, there are two categories - 13 and 14 years; and 15 and 17 years. For the water polo events, 18 years is the upper age limit. In the junior section, there are altogether 80 swimming events and in the sub-junior, 50 events, including the relay events. The Kerala team for the Sub-Junior and Junior National Aquatic Championships scheduled to be held at Indore and Bhopal during June and August respectively will be selected from the state championships.
