Suicide bid at police station

CHITTOOR: A teenage girl attempted suicide in Irala police station on Monday after the police declined to file a case against her parents, who fixed her marriage against her wish.According to Chittoor west circle inspector Srikanth, Achuthan fixed Priyanka’s marriage, but the girl was against the alliance. When her parents decided to go ahead with the marriage despite her opposition, Priyanka went to the police station to complain against her parents, who too  followed her.The police tried to pacify Priyanka, after her parents pleaded them to send their daughter with them, ignoring her plea to file a case. Depressed over the development, she swallowed acid she had brought in a bottle.
