New Delhi: India's CWG gold medallist boxer Mayengbam Suranjoy Singh is unperturbed by the tough competition level of the Asian Games and said he would look to better his performance in the multi-sporting event in China.

"It is going to be tough at the Asian Games as the competition level would be higher than the Commonwealth Games but I am confident of winning a medal," Suranjoy said on the sidelines of a felicitation event organised by Samsung India, which announced an incentive program for the Indian continent at the Asian Games.

"There would be some tough challenge from Kazakhstan, Thailand but my performance in Commonwealth Games was good and I would like to better my own performance," he added.

Asked about India's medal hopes at the Asian Games, Suranjoy said India would win at least five medals.

"The whole team has been training really hard. We had been putting in a lot of hard work before the Commonwealth Games and it reflected on our performances at the Games. I am hopeful, we will put up a similar or better show at the Asiad and win at least five medals," said the Indian Navy employee.

The 24-year-old boxer from Manipur won the Commonwealth Games flyweight gold by a walkover after his Kenyan opponent Benson Njangiru failed to show up in the finals.

To boost the confidence of athletes like Suranjoy, Samsung India today announced to award LCD TVs - 40 inch for gold, 32 inch for silver and 22 inch for bronze medallist - to the medal winners at the Asian Games.

As part of the initiative, the most valuable Indian player of the Asian Games will be awarded Rs 2.5 lakh worth of Samsung products.

The felicitation programme was also attended by other boxers - Akhil Kumar and Nanao Singh, Commonwealth Games gold medallist wrestler Sushil Kumar and silver medal winning hockey team's captain Rajpal Singh among others.
