London: Singing sensation Susan Boyle has reportedly threatened to quit Britain's Got Talent TV contest amid claims that she is finding it hard to handle the demands of her instant fame.
Piers Morgan, one of the judges on the show, said that Boyle, a favourite to win tomorrow's final, had "been in tears repeatedly" and had packed her bags in readiness to leave, the Sun online reported.
"I've been told she's been in floods of tears. On Wednesday she was actually going to leave the show, packed her bags to go, because she couldn't see the point in going on if all she was going to get was all this sniping," Morgan said.
Reports say ITV bosses are even considering axing her from Saturday's final over concerns for her health. "The last thing bosses want is a meltdown on national TV. It's been made clear that if she's not right mentally, she won't appear in the final," a source told the publication.
The revelations follow two outbursts from the Scottish singer in 24 hours, which have raised concerns about her mental wellbeing.
Boyle was reportedly angry after her favourite judge Morgan praised her competitor Shaheen Jafargholi's performance as 'the best'.
Thereafter Boyle was involved in an incident where she shouted at two people and complained to a policeman. She is also said to have been worried in the run-up to Saturday's grand final by the news that her favourite niece had collapsed weeks after giving birth to a boy.
