Sao Paulo: Adrian Sutil will start Sunday's season-ending Brazilian Grand Prix in eighth position on the grid for Sahara Force India, while Paul di Resta, the other Force India driver, could not go beyond Q2 and will start in 11th position.

Red Bull's double world champion Sebastian Vettel chalked up a record 15th pole position of the season in qualifying on Saturday. The 24-year-old German, who had equalled British racer Nigel Mansell's 1992 record of 14 in a single Formula One season at the previous race in Abu Dhabi, led Australian teammate Mark Webber in a front row sweep for the champions.

Vettel's record-breaking flying lap of 1:11.918 minutes came in the dying minutes of the Q3 session.

Sutil almost secured seventh position after clocking 1:13.298, but was pipped by Ferrari's Felipe Massa (1:13.068). Still, he made it to the top-10 for the fourth time in a row, , making his case again in front of the team which has not been able to decide on its drivers' line-up.

With his impressive show in Interlagos, Vettel also outpaced rookie teammate Paul di Resta for the 10th time in 19 races. Resta (1:13.584) missed out on Q3.

McLaren's Jenson Button will start Sunday's race in third place, next to compatriot and teammate Lewis Hamilton. Mercedes' Nico Rosberg was seventh, sandwiched between the two Ferrari cars - Fernando Alonso and Massa, who was ninth.

Michael Schumacher, who did not time a lap in Q3, was the last man in the top-10.

Force India, currently sixth in the Constructor's Championship with 57 points, aim to retain their place by the end of the season finale.
