Taiwan Textile Fair 2011 launched

BANGALORE: The Taiwan Textile Fair 2011 was launched in the city on Tuesday. Leading textile companies from Taiwan are exhibiting a wide range of innovative, trendy and high performance textile products at Orchid Hall at The Oberoi Hotel.Organisers of the event stated that the fair would also serve as a platform for businesses to come together to open new avenues in the textile and garment industry.They added that the city and its surrounding areas had around 15,000 garment units of different sizes with an annual turnover exceeding Rs 4500 crore.The international brands present in the city could benefit from the contemporary and trendy textiles at the fair, they said.“The Taiwan Textile Fair 2011 will act as a business matchmaking meeting and give opportunities to the Taiwan textile industry to expose their business concepts and services to the Indian marketers, business buyers, partners, distribution channels and key decision makers.Every year we come down to meet big format retailers, leading domestic brands and exporters. This year, we plan to make new ties and long association with the some of the best in Indian textile industry,” Jennifer Liu, Project Manager, Taiwan Textile Federation, said.She said that the fair would showcase a variety of products ranging from knitted fabrics (Jacquard, Lace, Mesh, Jersey), sporting socks, functional socks, stockings, tights, panty hose, gloves, tapes, cotton grey fabrics, cotton yarn, children’s wear, high performance woven fabrics for casual sports, functional fabrics for outdoor and sportswear, woven fabrics for casual and city wear, poly yarn dyed, nylon yarn dyed, zipper, slider, zipper making machine to interlinings.
