There are thousands of people across the state of Tamil Nadu who are engaged in the banana business. A plantain banana wholesaler from Palayamkottai, Tirunelveli district has recently made to news for one of his humanitarian works. Read this article to know more about this recent development. The name of the person we are talking about here is Senthilkumar. According to media reports, he recently found a bird’s nest within a load of plantain Bananas he brought from the market around 15 days ago. Out of curiosity, he gently opened the nest and found two baby birds inside. Without causing any harm, he carefully placed the nest in his shop. He feeds the babies everyday to ensure that the birds grow healthy.

Senthilkumar fed the birds with bananas. The babies are reportedly bulbul birds. For the past 15 days, the man has been taking care of the babies making sure that they face no problems while the birds grow up. The birds have become a point of attraction for people who visit his shop to buy bananas. The birds flutter around in the shop while Senthilkumar continues his sales.

The businessman mentioned that he was unable to part ways with the birds as they were very beautiful and thus decided to keep them under his care, allowing them to roam around freely. He said, “We went to Sathankulam in Thoothukudi district to bring my stock around 15 days ago. After cutting the Bananas and loading them onto the truck, we returned back to Palayamkottai. It was then that we discovered that the two baby birds were on the Banana stalks.”

“As they are featherless, I kept them in the show and have been feeding them with fruits daily. Now they have grown feathers and can fly up to around 15 feet. They still live at the shop. A couple of days ago, the birds went outside and got lost. They couldn’t find their way back, so they started chirping. Upon my friends’ suggestion, I went and brought them back to the shop. I plan to care for them until they can find food on their own. If they continue to stay with me after growing up, I will continue to look after them,” he added.
