Telangana march: Kodandaram, others booked for violations

A day after the Telangana March, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) and local police registered cases against Telangana Joint Action Action Committee chairman M Kondandaram and others on Monday.

The Ramgopalpet police booked Kodandaram for violation of timings. Cases under various sections of IPC were registered by the railway police, SIT and local police. As many as 13 cases were registered against violators at Ramgopalpet and two at Saifabad police stations and one at the Nampally railway police station.

 Additional commissioner of police (SIT) Mohammed Ahsan Reza told Express that they received some complaints against Kodandaram and others in this regard.

The Nampally railway police registered cases against unidentified persons for damage to the signalling system at Lakdikapul.

“We will see the video footage and take stern action against the miscreants,’’ said M Kantha Rao, SP, Secunderabad Railway Police.

Local police registered 15 cases against Kodandaram and others for conducting the march beyond the permitted time of 7 pm and till midnight and also for violence during the march.
