New delhi: After a relatively dull 10 days since it began, reality television show Bigg Boss 5 finally saw some action on Friday with Pooja Misrra throwing a violent temper fit and wielding a broom menacingly at the rest of the inmates cooped up inside the house.
Actor Shonali Nagrani was at the receiving end of the wrath of Misrra who considered herself victimized as the rest of the inmates ganged up against her.
It all started with a seemingly innocuous query by Nagrani about Misrra’s duty of post dinner cleanup of the kitchen area. Misrra apparently kicked the dustbin over, asking Nagrani to "get off her back."
But when former beauty queen and Afghan model Vida Samdajai joined Nagrani, Misrra banged the broom repeatedly on the floor, breaking it in half and took on the entire household in an all out war of wills.
Indignant household members appealed to Bigg Boss to evict Misrra, citing her violent temper and "complete inability to get along with any member of the house." But as of now Misrra was let off with a warning.
This season seemed to lack the usual punch that Bigg Boss packs with contestants either trying to too hard to portray a diplomatically correct image or steering clear of controversies. Actor Shakti Kapoor, known as Bollywood’s bad man, emerged docile and polite as he tried to rectify an image made popular with repetitive on-screen performances as the antagonist.
But on Thursday, the masks came off as Amar Upadhyay, the token eye-candy in the house, got into a raging argument with actor Juhi Parmar. Parmar broke down in tears and Upadhyay apologised for his behaviour.
Finally Bigg Boss 5 is beginning to get interesting, but it remains to be seen if Misrra's outburst will save her from eviction along with folk artiste Gulabo.
