VIRUDHUNAGAR: In a fallout of the murder of a teacher by a student in Chennai last week, two class XII students were detained in Narikudi near here for allegedly threatening a teacher with death. Police said the two students of Narikudi Marudhupandiyar Government School, along with five other schoolmates, were on Tuesday disturbing the morning prayers in the school. When Subramanian, an English teacher, expressed displeasure over their behaviour, the duo allegedly threatened to kill him with a small plastic knife, referring to the Chennai incident.Following this, all teachers of the school boycotted classes, demanding action against the duo. Tiruchuzhi DSP Mohan and Narikudi Inspector Shanmugam rushed to the spot. As the teachers refused to back down, police booked cases under sections 506/1 and 294/B against the duo and sent them to the juvenile home in Melur.
