TIRUCHY/MADURAI: Former Minister KN Nehru who was granted condition bail for usurping land at Kottapattu village was arrested in another land grab case here on Tuesday.According to police, Nerone Moraise lodged a complaint on October 2 with City Crime Branch police stating that he was allegedly threatened by ten persons including former minister KN Nehru, his brother KN Ramajeyam, Deputy Mayor MAnbalagan, Ramajeyam’s close relative Vinoth and others demanding piece of land from a total land of 20 acre belonged to him.The complainant stated that the former minister and others threatened him of dire consequences if they were not given the land.Based on the complaint a case was registered on October 2 and on Monday, Ramajeyam and Anbalagan were arrested. On Tuesday, the police arrested Nehru. However, Vinoth is absconding. Nehru will be produced before the Judicial Magistrate Court on October 7, police sources said. On Tuesday, Nehru and seven others were granted conditional bail by the Madurai Bench of the High Court.On complaints by persons whose lands had been taken over for the DMK office building in Tiruchy and another complaint from Karunanidhi of Erode that his 9.33 acres of land at Kottapattu village on the road to Tiruchy airport, police registered cases against Nehru, K N Ramajeyam, Deputy Mayor of Tiruchy Corporation Anbalagan, Soundarapandian, MLA, Kudamurutti Sekar, Anbil Periyasamy, Soundararaja and Salai Sheriff. All of them filed petitions seeking bail. Justice C S Karnan, before whom their petitions came up for hearing, granted them bail with condition. Nehru, Ramajeyam and Anbalagan were directed to sign at the Judicial Magistrate Court everyday at 10.30 am. The others were directed to sign at the court of Judicial Magistrate 1, in Madurai everyday.
